Daniel Terzenbach has been a member of the Executive Board of the BA since 14th March 2019. If approved, his new term in office will start on 14th March 2024.
In his position on the Executive Board, Terzenbach is responsible for the operational work of the BA. In his role, he advocates for a more diverse labour market and his work also focuses on ensuring that the range of services offered by the BA is forward-looking. During the pandemic, he rapidly reorganised the process for short-time work benefits to ensure that it was possible for the large number of affected businesses to receive the necessary payments quickly. In addition to his crisis management, during his period in office he has also further expanded the International division and established a holistic management system at the BA which is based on the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
Christina Ramb, Chair of the Administrative Board and member of the Executive Board of the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA) made the following comments about the decision: “As a member of the Executive Board of the BA, Daniel Terzenbach stands for customer orientation, quality assurance and networking in the regions. He has demonstrated that he is able to stay on course, manage crises and drive innovations, also in difficult periods. The Administrative Board looks forward to Daniel Terzenbach being available for another term in office, and we are happy to propose his reappointment to the Executive Board to the German federal government.”
Anja Piel, Deputy Chair of the Administrative Board and member of the Federal Executive Committee of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB), added: “With the decision to propose Daniel Terzenbach as Executive Chair for the Regions once again, we are focusing on continuity and quality. The joint proposal is an important signal in the regions, where Daniel Terzenbach has consistently brought the employees and teams on board during the recent difficult years and focused on them as the key asset for overcoming crises. We must continue to rise to the challenges ahead effectively and to accompany the transformation with the Federal Employment Agency in such a way that, as far as possible, no one is lost along the way. As the Administrative Board, we want to continue working on these challenges together with Daniel Terzenbach.”
